Tri-City Equipment Privacy Policy
Tri-City Equipment is committed to the security and
protection of private information collected from our
customers. This privacy policy has been produced to
outline the principles of the policy and made in
compliance with PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection
and Electronic Documents Act).
PRINCIPLES:
1. Accountability
Tri-City Equipment is accountable for the security and
protection of all information collected from customers.
Tri-City Equipment has taken appropriate security
measures to ensure the protection of private
information. In addition to producing this privacy
policy, Tri-City Equipment has also appointed a Privacy
Officer to ensure compliance with our privacy policy.
2. Purpose Identification
Tri-City Equipment will inform the customer of the
purpose of collecting customer information. Information
collected will not be used for any purposes other than
what the customer has given consent to.
3. Consent
Tri City Equipment will obtain required consent from
customers for the collection, use and disclosure of
personal information. Consent can be provided verbally,
in writing, electronically or otherwise depending on the
nature of the situation. Highly confidential information
(for instance, financial or medical records) must have
consent in written or verbal form. Customers can
withdraw previously given consent at any time by
providing a written notice to our Privacy Officer. This
however, may affect on the customer relationship.
4. Limiting Collection, Use and Disclosure
Tri-City Equipment will identify the purpose for which
any personal information is being collected and will
only collect the necessary information for those
purposes.
5. Accuracy
Tri-City Equipment will take the necessary steps to make
certain that our customer information is accurate, up to
date and appropriate for its intended purpose. In the
event that our customer information is not correct,
customers may provide updated or corrected information.
6. Security
Tri-City Equipment will take appropriate measures to
ensure the security of customers’ private information
from theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying,
use or modification. These measures will include the
following:
• Physical measures including locking file cabinets and
restricting access to our offices.
• Organizational procedures such as limiting information
to appropriate employees
• Technological measures including password protection
7. Openness and Access
Tri-City Equipment is open about our privacy policy. A
copy of this policy can be viewed on our website (www.tri-cityequipment.com).
Customers may also request access to personal
information that Tri-City Equipment has collected with
consent. The information will be provided unless
providing the information would be unfavorable to
others, infringe on the confidentiality of the
information pertaining to others, or if releasing the
information is prohibited by law.
8. Complaints and Challenging Compliance
Our Privacy Officer can be contacted through any of the
options at the bottom of this policy. Any complaints or
enquires will be dealt with in a well-timed manner by
the Privacy Officer. If a complaint is investigated and
justified, Tri-City Equipment will update the policies
to correct the problem.
